M&R Watsonville Spray Foam Insulation

About our Watsonville insulation contractor crew

Foam insulation fills the wall and roof cavities of an unfinished room, with exposed wood framing, ductwork, and a window.

From restaurant kitchens to attics

I cooked in restaurant kitchens for years before a friend got me onto an insulation crew. I learned the trade crawling through attics and crawl spaces for someone else, then started this business in Watsonville in 2017. The kitchen stuck with me. You set up your station before you cook, and an attic's the same, so repairs, safety checks and sealing come before any insulation goes in.

Most of our calls come from people with a drafty house or a hot upstairs, folks who just bought an older place, and some property managers. Watsonville has plenty of older homes, Victorians downtown included, and termites are a real problem around here, so I want to see what's up there before I quote. If a job isn't ready or isn't worth doing, I'll tell you. We're based in Watsonville and work in Santa Cruz, Salinas, Gilroy and plenty of the cities around them, and our home page lists everything we do.

What it's like working with us

  • Straight answers from the owner

I come out myself, look at your attic or crawl space, and tell you plainly what's worth doing now and what can wait. If there's bad news, like soaked insulation or a rodent mess, you hear it first so nothing surprises you later.

  • Honest advice on spray foam

Foam costs more because it seals air while it insulates, and that's worth it when your ductwork runs through the attic. Otherwise, sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in, which is loose fill we blow in through a hose, usually gets you more for your money.

  • A clean house when we leave

We cover floors and belongings, keep the dust contained and clean up before we go, and we're fully licensed and insured. Call (831) 666-1048 or send us a message to set up a free look at your house.

How a job runs, start to finish

  1. Look closely

We check how many inches are already up there, whether the old material is wet or full of droppings, and how the vents, wiring and framing look.

  2. Fix first

We clear out bad material and sort out repairs and safety issues before anything new goes in, so you're not paying to bury a problem.

  3. Seal, then insulate

We close the gaps around can lights, pipes and the hatch first, then lay insulation in evenly and keep the eave vents clear so the attic can breathe.

  4. Permits sorted

We check with the city or county office that covers your address, and when a job needs a permit, we pull it and line up the inspections.

  5. Final check

We don't call a job done until I've walked it myself and checked the depth, the edges and the vents.
